Situated in the northwestern part of Yunnan Province, Lijiang is a region covering an area of 7,425 sq.km. With a total population of 301,000, there are more than ten nationalities living in the area.
Yufengsi Lamasery is located in the south side of the Yulong (Jade Dragon) Snow Mountain. The lamasery was built in the last year of the reign of the Emperor Kangxi (1661–1722) of Qing Dynasty (1644–1911) and is one of the Scarlet Sect lamaseries of Lijiang.
Jade Fountain Park is known as the ‘Black Dragon Pond’ and is located in the centre of Lijiang. The pond is divided into two parts by a bridge. For hundreds of years, this pond has never dried up, even in drought years. Wonderful view with the stunning backdrop of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain in the distance.
Dongba Cultural Museum Dongba culture refers to ancient Naxi culture, a Chinese minority culture that originally derives from the Dongba religion which is believed to be one thousand years old. It chiefly consists of scriptures, paintings, music, dances, ritual implements and religious services.
Stone Drum and Tiger Leaping Gorge From Tangula Snow Mountain in the Northern Tibetan Plateau, the Yangtze River first flows to the south, and then north, the river has shaped a dramatic triangle about 50 sq km. From the Stone Drum Village, you can view the First Bend of Yangtze River and Tiger Leaping Gorge, one of the deepest canyons of the world.
