Clients’ comments
From John Drake, Hertfordshire
The Taiwan tour in two weeks is ambitious but is a fascinating introduction to a country that is really little known. The itinerary is a good mix of history, culture, gastronomic and scenic experiences.
The guide (I score 5) was first rate, it is difficult guiding one sole traveler and he did well with combining the guiding and driving, language and knowledge both first rate.
Organisation (I score 5) I cannot fault. All flights, accommodation and itinerary worked without a hitch. Thank you for a really enjoyable and valuable two weeks.

Visit Longluan Lake which is a popular spot for migratory birds in spring and autumn, and Maopitou, the 'cat's nose', a bizarrely eroded coral seashore at the very tip of Taiwan. B L

Stay overnight in the monastery's basic but comfortable guest house, Pilgrims' Lodge. BD
Day 10
Alishan National Park
You may like to join the early morning chanting, prayers, tai chi or meditation at the monastery this morning, before departing to Tainan to visit the 17th century Dutch fortress and tower that was the hub of their short-lived occupation of the island. Continue to Alishan National Scenic Area where cypress trees cover the slopes of Mount Alishan and clouds wreathe the peak, to stay at the modest Alishan House Hotel. BD

Take a morning trail to admire the surroundings whose colors change every season from cherry blossom pink to autumn gold.
