Hotels in Guangzhou
There are many hotels in Guangzhou, modern and well-equipped for the business traveller, and we feature here a range to suit most budgets, from the prestigious White Swan to the more familiar Holiday Inn.
Landmark Canton Hotel
The 39-storey Landmark Canton Hotel stands beside the Pearl River, conveniently located for business and leisure travellers with transport networks, shops and restaurants on its doorstep. Its 483 rooms have satellite TV, free broadband access, in-house movies and telephone, and guests have use of the indoor pool, sauna, gym, table tennis, beauty salon, clinic, laundry service, boutique and post office as well as a fully-equipped business centre. There are six restaurants serving western and Chinese cuisine.
White Swan
The White Swan is a member of the prestigious hotel group ‘Leading Hotels of the World’ and has hosted many VIP guests such as the Queen and President Bush. It is a huge modern building on historic Shamian Island with 843 rooms over 34 storeys, and its central atrium has a great cascade with luxuriant foliage, as befits a hotel in the City of Flowers. With excellent facilities for hosting international forums and conferences business travellers will not be disappointed in the services offered, and the hotel is currently undergoing major refurbishment.
Garden Hotel
One of only three hotels in China to receive the Platinum Five Star Award, the highest accolade in the hospitality industry. Its restaurants serve fine speciality cuisine – the Carousel Restaurant on the thirty floor boasts magnificent views as well as splendid buffet meals, and there are exquisite Chinese, Japanese and French restaurants too, amongst the finest in the city, bars, a café and western rooftop restaurant. Guests can enjoy 24-hour butler service and free broadband access, gym, fantastic outdoor pool, tennis and squash courts, garden and spa.
China Marriott Hotel
This 850-room hotel close to Yuexia Park has all the services and amenities that you would expect from a Marriott hotel – LCD satellite TVs, iron and ironing board, rainforest showers and separate jacuzzi bathtub, for example – as well as superb business facilities, currency exchange, cash machines, shops, laundry service, outdoor pool, jacuzzi, sauna, tennis court and gym. There are several restaurants including a steak restaurant, western buffet, formal and casual Chinese, and Middle Eastern.
Holiday Inn
A well-equipped business hotel, with all modern conveniences. Rooms have satellite TV, iron and ironing board, telephone, electrical adaptors, internet access, desk, hairdryer, trouser press and minibar. There is an extensive business centre, an outdoor pool, gym, steam room, sauna and massage, beauty salon, cash machine, laundry service and live entertainment. The hotel has Chinese and Japanese restaurants, a bar and lounge.
Sheraton
Guangzhou’s Sheraton Hotel is located in Tee Mall, the city’s leading shopping and commercial centre with shops, restaurants and entertainment close at hand. There are 445 comfortable rooms with rainforest shower and separate bathtub, broadband access and 40-inch LCD TV as well as the standard features of any 5-star hotel. The hotel has a gorgeous outdoor pool, a spa and a gym, great business centre, and a range of dining options such as Chinese, Italian and western buffet.
